What the treatment involves
Netra Basti is performed with a shallow, secure “dam” formed around both eyes using a lentil-flour and water mixture. Melted herbal ghee is poured into that dam so the oil bathes the eyelids and surrounding area for the session. At Heena's Salon Astoria the full procedure fits within the advertised 35 MINUTES.
During the treatment you lie back while the practitioner monitors the seal, warmth and comfort. The dam is intended to keep the herbal ghee localized around the lids and brow area rather than flowing freely, and the therapist will adjust temperature and positioning to avoid discomfort while the ghee is in place.
