Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Shiro Abhyangam + Pada Abhyangam (60 min).

During the 60-minute Shiro Abhyangam + Pada Abhyangam treatment you’ll receive a gentle, continuous stream of warm herbal oil on the forehead and scalp, light head and neck massage, plus an oil-and-ghee foot massage to relax, nourish, and restore balance.

Pregnant clients should consult their doctor before booking Shiro Abhyangam + Pada Abhyangam; many therapists avoid Shirodhara in the first trimester. We can often adapt pressure and oils, but high-risk pregnancies or open scalp conditions may require deferral.

For general wellbeing, monthly sessions are beneficial; for chronic stress, migraine, or scalp issues we recommend one to two sessions weekly for several weeks, then taper to maintenance based on your therapist’s assessment and response.

Many clients report reduced migraine frequency and intensity after regular Shiro Abhyangam + Pada Abhyangam. The treatment calms stress-related triggers and soothes nerve pathways, though results vary; continue medical care for severe or persistent migraines.

Side effects are usually mild: transient drowsiness, temporary oil residue, or slight lightheadedness. Allergic reactions are rare—inform us of sensitivities. If you experience severe discomfort, rash, or prolonged headache, contact us and your healthcare provider immediately.

Because the treatment deeply relaxes, some clients feel drowsy afterward. We recommend resting 15–30 minutes before driving. If you feel unusually lightheaded or sleepy, wait longer or arrange alternate transport; we’re happy to assist with post-treatment care.
