Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Microdermabrasion.
Yes for most, with consultation. Our therapists assess skin condition, medical history, and sensitivity to tailor intensity or recommend alternatives. Not recommended for active rosacea, open wounds, or recent tanning. A patch test may be performed to ensure safety.
Most clients see noticeable improvement after one session, but optimal results generally require a course of 4–6 sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. Maintenance treatments every 1–3 months help preserve smoothness and brightness long-term.
Most clients experience a mild scratching or sandpaper sensation during treatment; discomfort is minimal and well tolerated. Afterward, skin may feel slightly warm or sensitive for 24–48 hours. We use soothing serums and SPF to calm and protect skin post-treatment.
Avoid strong exfoliants, retinoids, chemical peels, waxing, and prolonged sun exposure for at least 48–72 hours before and after treatment. Use gentle cleanser, hydrating moisturiser, and broad-spectrum SPF daily to support healing and prevent irritation or pigmentation.
Appointments usually last around 45 to 60 minutes, including consultation, cleansing, the microdermabrasion pass, and post-treatment soothing, serums, and SPF application. Duration may vary if additional masks or targeted treatments are added.
Microdermabrasion improves mild acne scarring, surface pigmentation, and texture by promoting skin renewal, but deeper scars and stubborn pigmentation may need stronger treatments like chemical peels, microneedling, or lasers. We’ll recommend the best plan during consultation.
