Get answers to common questions about Ear Candling.
Ear candling is generally safe for many adults when performed by trained therapists, but it's not recommended for young children, pregnant clients, anyone with perforated eardrums, recent ear surgery, or active infections. A consultation ensures a safe, tailored approach.
A full Ear Candling session at Heena's Salon lasts approximately 30–45 minutes, including a gentle head and neck massage. We take time to assess your needs, perform the treatment safely, and finish with aftercare advice for optimal comfort.
Ear candling may temporarily relieve pressure or mild blockage for some clients, sometimes creating a perception of clearer hearing. It doesn't replace medical treatments for chronic hearing loss. If you have persistent hearing concerns, please consult an ear specialist for diagnosis and care.
You'll recline comfortably while the therapist places a slender candle at the ear opening, lighting the flame briefly and providing a calming head massage. You'll feel gentle warmth and relaxation; the procedure is non-invasive. We end with cleaning guidance and post-care recommendations.
Contraindications include a perforated eardrum, ear tubes, recent ear surgery, active infections, severe eczema, or recent head trauma. We also avoid treatment for young children or pregnant clients without medical approval. Inform us of medical history during your consultation for safe care.
We recommend avoiding swimming, diving, or getting water directly into treated ears for at least 24–48 hours to reduce infection risk. Keep ears dry, follow our aftercare instructions, and contact us if you notice discomfort, drainage, or unusual symptoms.
