Keep the paste on for 4–8 hours, avoid water contact during setting, and gently scrape off dried henna. Apply a light oil like coconut or olive to protect the stain. Avoid heavy scrubbing, exfoliants, and chlorinated water for longer-lasting color.

Fresh henna paste can transfer and stain fabrics while wet. Use protective coverings, avoid tight clothing around the design, and sleep with a towel under the area until the paste is removed to prevent accidental staining.
